Made this one after I got promoted at work. I was feeling conflicted in my decision. I knew taking the job would mean more stability but less time for my art. I also had an old colleague come out the woodwork with crazy allegations about me shortly after the announcement of my new title. I felt that everything I had built was up in the air and there was no stable ground to walk on. I did not feel great when making this piece but I did it to get my mind off of the stress and anxiety I felt settling into my new position under scrutiny. As they say, money talks bullshit walks. I’m still ten toes down at my job growing and thriving. The person who made these allegations about me is long gone. It really bothered me at the time and made me feel isolated and ostracized. I now see it as God helping me rip the bandaid off of my old life so I can heal into where I am suppose to be. No weapons formed against me shall prosper. It can’t always be rainbows and butterflies no matter how “good of a person” you are. If you stay ready you ain’t got to get ready.
